Karen SueLana Sutterfield (nee Wong), a longtime resident of Minnetrista, following a long illness with cancer, passed away peacefully on Nov. 18, 2002. Karen was born on Feb. 13, 1950 in Grand Forks, ND. Karen grew up in Golden Valley, graduated from Hopkins High School in 1968 and completed her education at Macalester College in 1972. She was married to Michael Sutterfield and lived in Chicago. Karen was a mentor to many women in the corporate business world. She was preceded in death by her sister, J. Susan Wong in 1982; her father, Harold C. Wong in 1979; her grandmother, Yuki ``Grams'' Kamano in 1995, grandfather, Henry I. Kamano in 1971, and uncle, Robert Kamano in 1996. Karen is survived by her mother, Jacqueline K. Wong of San Francisco; cousin, Lani Cirillo (nee Kamano), wife of Frank Cirillo of Yorktown, NY and their daughter Kimiko Cirillo. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, Volunteers for Hospice at St. Louis Park Methodist Hospital, or memorials to the Twin Cities Buddhist Assoc. may be sent to: 6431 Mere Drive, Eden Prairie, MN 55346. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002 at 5:30 pm, with visitation one hour prior to service at the Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave. S., Edina. 952-924-4100
