Alan R. Caplan

Caplan Alan R., died tragically in an automobile accident in Minneapolis November 3, 2002, age 46 years. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Casper). Loving father of Christopher and Rachel. Son of the late Raymond and Genevieve Caplan. Dearest brother and best friend of Lynne Caplan. Fond uncle of Adam, Joe, Jenny, Jake, Nichole, Lindsay and Mitch. Very close brother-in-law of Kathy (John) Kerhin, Linda (Pat) Bleakney, Diane (John) Macaluso, and Jerry Casper. Son-in-law of Jerry and Del Casper. Also survived by many other relatives and friends. Al's charismatic personality and sense of humor touched lives too numerous to mention. His devotion to his family and friends was unsurpassed. Al had an outstanding career in the pharmaceutical industry for almost 25 years, most recently as Vice President of Sales for MGI PHARMA INC. in Minneapolis, MN. Al was the ultimate team player and valuable mentor to many. Everyone who knew Al found him to be a passionate sports enthusiast and avid golfer. Al was happiest cheering on the Packers and Badgers, or coaching his kids in baseball, basketball and soccer. He also enjoyed fishing, boating and relaxing at his lake home. Al enriched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know him. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 9, 9:30 AM from the Heritage Funeral Home to ST. MATTHIAS CHURCH for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Entombment St. Adalbert Cemetery. Visitation Friday, 4-8 PM at the Funeral Home with Vigil at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be graciously accepted to the University of Wisconsin Foundation.
