Robert E. Emery

Emery Robert E., age 91, Bayfield, WI, died peacefully Oct. 31, 2002. He practiced patent, corporate & anti-trust law with 3M Co. in St. Paul, MN until his retirement in 1976. He was a gifted lawyer & mentor to many. Among his many professional accomplishments, he viewed his greatest achievement as having recruited the majority of the talented legal department at 3M. In 1986, he began a new career as a consultant for Phillips Plastics Corp. in Phillips, WI, working for over 15 years until he was almost 91. He will be remembered as a gentle, kind, selfless, loving man who touched countless lives during his long life. He is survived by his loving & beautiful wife of 54 years, Elizabeth of Bayfield; son, Richard; daughter, Mary (John) Shearen; grandchildren, Chris, Mollie & Bill Shearen, all of White Bear Lake, MN; other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Susan (Perry) Emery; brothers, Charles Jr. & Watson. A memorial service was held at the Bayfield Presbyterian Church on Nov. 4, 2002.
