Gevelinger Robert P. Gevelinger, 90, of Main Street Lodge, Minneapolis, went home to join his God and wife Margaret on November 1, 2002, All Saints Day. This farmer, realtor, insurance salesman and missionary lived a full life as husband to Margaret (Bradley), and father to Mary Ellen (Sinsinawa Dominican) of Minneapolis, and Mark (Jean) of Verona, WI. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Stonner, and brothers, Joe (Rosemary) and Ray (Eleanor), along with numerous nieces and nephews. Robert served as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in Mineral Point, WI and Madison, and was a member of the Fourth Degree Bishop O'Connor Assembly in Madison. He was also a founding member of the Latin American Mission Program (LAMP) and he and Margaret were active missionaries in Mexico for over 25 years. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Anna (Kieffer), brothers infant Joseph, John, Paul and Edward, as well as his wife Margaret. The family is extremely grateful to Dr. Stan Smith and the staff at Main Street Lodge and Fairview Hospice for their loving care of Robert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated be on Monday, November 4 at 10:00 am at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Verona. Visitation is from 2:00-5:00 pm on Sunday, November 3 at the Joyce-Ryan Verona Funeral Home, 118 N. Franklin St., Verona, WI, and one hour prior to the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to the Sinsinawa Dominicans or LAMP are suggested.
