Gloria Carol Fiebiger

Fiebiger Gloria Carol, 73, Edina, MN, died 10/10/02 after a brief illness. She was born 12/14/28 in Duluth, MN to Rev. Elias & Clara Rasmussen. She was raised in Mpls, graduating from Mpls SW High School in 1946. She graduated from St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN, with a degree in English and Piano Performance in 1950. She married Dayton Fiebiger March 25, 1951. They had three children, Susan, Thomas and Stephen. Susie's special needs made her an advocate for similar children and a life-long supporter of Mt. Olivet Rolling Acres. Her volunteerism in the Activity Dept. at Stevens Square eventually led her into nursing home administration and another degree in Health Care Administration from the U of M. She was the Administrator at Jones-Harrison Nursing Home in Mpls until her retirement in 1994. Gloria was a passionate advocate for the vulnerable, a consummate musician/pianist, an avid traveler, a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and a delighted grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Dayton; sons, Tom (Siri), Fargo, ND and Steve (Rita), Burnsville, MN; grandsons, Rolf, Erik and Scott; brothers, Roland (Betty) Rasmussen, Edina, MN, Rolf Rasmussen, Bedford, TX; sisters, Genevieve Jones, Mpls, Clare (Norm) Bjornnes, Clearwater, FL; many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter; parents; brother, Harold Rasmussen, and sister, Lillian Pruitt. Visitation Sunday, 5- 7 pm at the funeral chapel. Funeral service at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave S., Mpls, Monday at 1 pm, with visitation one hour preceding. Interment Lakewood Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Mt.
