Goldfarb Leon M. Goldfarb, 90, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away on September 30, 2002. Leon, born in Warsaw, Poland in 1911 came to the US at the age of 9 and settled in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was a retired partner of the national accounting firm Grant Thornton. Leon was also Treasurer and a Director of Midcontinent Broadcasting Co., owner of Radio & Television Stations and Cable Television Systems in Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota and Wisconsin. Larry Bentson, Board Chairman of Midcontinent said, ``Leon was always the conscience of our company.'' Leon and his wife Esther retired to Scottsdale in 1975 where Leon spent many years doing community volunteer work. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Esther; sons, Joseph (Barbara) and David (Giovanna) and daughter, Rochelle ``Reecie'' (Stan); seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his extended family of five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Bertha Goldfarb; brother, Jack and sister, Rose Glicken. Private graveside services were held Tuesday, October 1 at Green Acres.
