Bieter Jerome T. Bieter passed away Sept 28, 2002 after a long illness. Preceded in death by parents, Rose & Nicholas Bieter of Faribault, MN; and brothers, Robert and James of St Paul, and Joseph of Chattanooga, TN. Survived by wife of 50 years, Anne; and children, Kimberley Chandler and Margaret Cleary; and grandchild, Allison. Born in 1922 in Faribault, MN he graduated from the University of Minnesota Business School with distinction and membership in honor society Beta Sigma Rho. After serving in the armed forces he returned to the University to earn a Masters degree in Health Care Administration accompanied by the James A. Hamilton Award in 1949. His career in the health care field took him to Rhode Island Hospital, from 1949 to 1953 as Ass't. Director and then to Uniontown, PA as CEO of Uniontown Hospital. He returned to his beloved Minnesota in 1956 at Ass't. Professor in Hospital and Health Care Administration and Consultant with Jas. A. Hamilton Associated, Inc. He became an owner and President of that firm before retiring in 1987. He was a Fellow in the American College of Hospital Administration, a Fellow in the American Association of Health Care Consultants; President of that organization in 1975 and served on its Executive Committee 1970-76. He was a member of the American Association of Hospital Planning and the American Hospital Association. His work was published in a variety of Health Care jounals throughout his career. After retiring and moving to Arizona to pursue his life long love of golf he served on the Boards of Directors of the Sun Health Corporation and Boswell Hospital for the next ten years. Memorials are preferred to Sun Health. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 19002 N. 128th Ave, Sun City West, AZ on Saturday, October 5, at 10:00 am.
