Down Audrey, age 85, of Annandale died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at the St. Cloud Hospital of pulmonary fibrosis. Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2002 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Audrey was born June 18, 1917 in Minneapolis to Harold and Edith (Drake) Briggs. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Minnesota where she was awarded a Master's Degree in Psychology. She married Arthur H. Down, and he preceded her in death in 1982. A friend, Marvin Strate, also preceded her in death. She worked as a psychologist and a rehabilitation counselor for the State of Minnesota, retiring in 1975. Audrey was a member of the American Psychological Association, Greater Lake Sylvia Association, League of Women Voters, instrumental in the establishment of Pioneer Park in Annandale, and active in the Order of Eastern Star. She loved to travel and in recent years discovered a joy in painting. She lived on Lake Sylvia, Annandale for over 50 years, and wintered in Ajicic, Mexico, Mission, TX, and Freemont, CA. For the past two years she has been a resident of the St. Benedicts Senior Community, St. Cloud. She is survived by a sister, Elizabeth (Bettie) Roos of MD and niece, Catherine Selden Feidt of MD.
