Willie L. Thomas, age 53, of Mpls. Preceded in death by parents, Corrine & Arthur Thomas; sister, Edna Thomas; and brother, Arthur Thomas, Jr. Survived by spouse, Georgia; daughter, Tanya Thomas; sons, Andre, Corey (Carrie) and Chad Thomas; grandchildren, Brandon, LaQuan, Takii, Shayla, Jalen, and David Thomas; step-grandchildren, Tichelle Lloyd and Ryan Christian; brothers, Charles and Michael Thomas of Mpls., Billy Richardson and Ronnie Johnson of Mpls., Calvin, John, and Larry Thomas of Shreveport, LA, and James Thomas of Dallas, TX; sisters, Ann Thomas of Mpls, Mary Mays of Los Angeles, CA; and Jacquelyne Lewis of Shreveport, LA; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 11 am at Holy Name Catholic Chuch, 3637 11th Ave. So. Interment at Dawn Valley. Visitation Friday 6-9 pm at Morris Nilsen Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave. So., Richfield. Willie was a member of the Mpls. Central High School 1968 graduating class. He was employed by UPS since 1976. He lived with ALS (better known as the Lou Gehrig's disease) for the past 10 years, with the last 5½ years being on long-term mechanical ventilation. Memorials preferred.
