Caven, Jill Suzanne 60, of Eden Prairie, passed away from the effects of chemotherapy, after a three year struggle with cancer, on June 30th, 2015. She was surrounded by loving family and friends at the time of her passing. Jill was born July 30, 1954 in Duluth, Minnesota. She graduated from Duluth East High School in 1972 and St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1985. Jill was a dedicated hospice nurse and hospice care coordinator at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. She enjoyed reading, discovering new music, watching the Twins win, vacationing on Kaua'i and spending time at Gunflint Lake. Jill was a loving mother and grandmother, who reveled in her grandchildren's laughter. Preceded in death by her brother, Randy, survived by her parents, Lawrence and Marion "Tippy" Caven; partner of 20 years, Betsy Johnson; daughters, Amanda Hoff (Chris DesMarais) and Olivia (Brian) Dargis; Boo and LilBit; grandchildren Piper Rose and Sagan Danielle DesMarais; brother, Jay (Lori) Caven; sisters, Rebecca (Brian) Bozelka, Leslie (Dave) Fasteen, Jan Caven (Mike Johnson), Beth Caven, many nieces, nephews and life-long best friend Joni Monahan Plante. A special thank you to the nursing staff at Methodist Hospital for taking such great care of Jill. Also, we are so grateful for all that Wanda has done to help and support us during the past three years. A celebration of Jill's life will be held at the home she shared with Betsy at 9425 Libby Lane, Eden Prairie, MN on August 22, 2015 from 2 to 6 pm. A spoken tribute will be started by Chaplain Kathleen Burns at 3 pm, followed by other friends and family who wish to share stories and memories of Jill.
