Hurt Ivan Floyd, age 84, passed away peacefully on Aug. 28, 2002 at his home in Hutchinson, MN. Ivan was born on Nov. 2, 1917, in Chester, SD. On June 26, 1941, Ivan was united in marriage to Lucille M. Waage in Esterville, IA. Ivan was a member of the Hutchinson Masonic Temple Lodge 59, Orbit, York Rite Bodies, Zuhrah Temple Shrine, and the Hutchinson American Legion Post 96. He was a Past Commodore with the Hutchinson Jaycees and was honored as Mr. Hutchinson in 1979. In 1969, Ivan was a finalist for the Minnesota Teacher of the Year and was selected as WCCO's ``Good Neighbor'' in 1979. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, jewelry making, stained glass, and weaving Nantucket baskets. Ivan is survived by his wife, Lucille Hurt; children, Louiva Puffer & her husband James of Plymouth, Virginia Prochnow & her husband James of Denver, CO, and Russell D. Hurt & his wife Cynthia of Port Wing, WI. A Memorial Service will be held on Sat., Sept. 7, 2002, at 3 PM, at Vineyard United Methodist Church in Hutchinson. Preceded by interment at 1:30 PM at Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to Hutchinson Hospice.
