Falk-Simm A. Evelyn Falk-Simm, 82, of Sandstone, passed away peacefully in St. Mary's Hospital, Duluth. She was born on December 2, 1920 in Mpls to Robert & Imogene (Gregg) Hiveley. Evelyn graduated from Central High School in 1938. She was united in marriage to George Pappas in 1939. They had three children. In 1946, the marriage was dissolved. Evelyn raised her family and in 1959 married Deloren Olaf Falk. She worked at various jobs, the last of which was at FMC in Fridley, from which she retired in 1980. the Falks moved to Bremen Township in 1980. Evelyn was widowed that fall. Evelyn Falk married Darold John Simm on May 20, 1989. She belonged to St. John's Lutheran Church in Finlayson until her marriage to Darold Simm at which she transferred to Rutledge Community Church. She was active in her church, Rutledge Senior Citizens, Community Education, and a volunteer at Sandstone and Moose Lake Nursing Homes. Evelyn was also a member of the Kettle River Squares and Crossroad Cloggers. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles and Robert Hiveley; an infant sister; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Pappas. Evelyn is survived by her beloved husband, Darold John Simm; daughter, Linda (John) Henderson; sons, Robert Pappas and Paul (Nancy) Pappas; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be Saturday, October 11, at 11 AM in Rutledge Community Church with a gathering of family and friends from 10-11 AM at the church. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to the Rutledge Community Church. Arrangements are with Hamlin-Hansen- Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake (218) 485-4429.
