John Engels

Engels, John age 86, passed away July 26, 2015 at home surrounded by family. Preceded in death by parents, John Engels Sr and Rose Gresser Johnson. John graduated from Denfeld High in Duluth and Dunwoody Institute, Mpls. He served in the Army and fought in the Korean Conflict. Worked as a heating engineer and buyer for Geo. A. Clark and Son. Later for Don Mample and then Westburne Supply Co. Was a Boy Scout leader, active in the Minnesota Woodcarver's Association, enjoyed family, wood working, woodcarving and especially golf. Spent retirement summers near Palisade, MN and winters in McAllen, TX. Survived by wife, Audrey, and children: Nick (Ginger) Engels, Holly (Pat) Gill, D. D. (Clint) Watson, Wendy (Tom) Westbury, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A Celebration of John's life will be held at Banfill Crossing, 8310 University Ave NE in Fridley MN on August 8, 1:30-3:30 with interment later at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Palisade, MN.
