Welch, Norman William "Lucky" Age 94 years young, of Mound, MN. Left this world peacefully in the early morning of July 2, 2015. A true modern man and loving husband to Grace Elizabeth (Racer) for 63 wonderful years, father of six, grandfather to twelve, great grandfather to five, honorary father and mentor for many. Norman's many accomplishments include being an Eagle Scout & Scoutmaster, High School & College wrestler, WWII Bombardier (flying 35 combat missions in the European Theater) earning the nickname "Lucky", a U of Minnesota graduate in Elementary Education who went on to teach 2nd grade, 5th grade science, and special education in the Mound-Westonka Schools for 30 years. After retiring, Norman was able to devote more time to his many hobbies which included B&W photography, geology, sailing, fishing, genealogy, home remodeling, bicycling, cold type printing, kite flying, stamp collecting, antique collecting, reading, and helping in Grace's garden. Norman was a seeker of truth who chose to live a life of kindness and inclusion for all people, guided by a belief in no absolutes except for the powers of love and serendipity. We who have known and loved him are truly the "Lucky" ones. As per Norman's wish, please send your memorials to your public schools to provide materials for students to learn.
