Gail (Walin) Leipold

Leipold (Walin) Gail F., age 57, of Prior Lake, formerly Excelsior, died of pancreatic cancer on August 25, 2002. Survived by husband, Ed; and step family, Sharon & Ken Thorson of Minnetonka, Lane & Wendy Leipold of Lakeville, Susan & Ken Johnson of Corvallis, OR, Steve & Joyce Leipold of Savage; and six grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Bob Walin & his wife Robbi of Golden, CO. Gail worked for Robbinsdale Area Schools until her retirement in November, 2000. For many years she taught at Zachary Lane Elementary School before becoming an Istructional Assistant. She spent the last nine years of her 34-year career at the Robbinsdale District Office as a Curriculum Associate. For many years, Gail enjoyed playing in the bell choir at church. She was an active pottery student and volunteer at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts. She also loved golf, camping and travel, both foreign and domestic. She and Ed recently purchased a second home in Tucson, AZ where they enjoyed living this past winter. Memorial Service Sunday, Sept. 8, 2 pm at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 301 County Road 19, Excelsior, with a Celebration of Life to follow at Lord Fletcher's from 3-5 pm.
