Ellen Jane Townsend

Townsend Ellen Jane, 85, of Decatur, IL, died 9:10 pm Fri. (Aug. 9, 2002) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Service 10:30 am Wednesday in Dawson & Wikoff Colonial Chapel North, Decatur, with visitation 6 to 8 pm Tuesday. Memorials: Visiting Nurse Association. Mrs. Townsend was born Sept. 15, 1916 in LaCrosse, WI, the daughter of Henry & Othelia Munson Affeldt. She was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She married Roy Chester Townsend on June 3, 1939. Surviving are her husband; sons, Brian R. Townsend & wife Sue of Decatur, Richard C. Townsend & wife Mary of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Tyler Townsend & wife Teresa, Alicia, Marcy and Andrew Townsend; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Christian Townsend; sister, Pat Blanchard & husband Wayne of LaCrosse, WI; nieces & nephews, Nancy Goyette, Jeff, David and Steven Blanchard and William Zimmerman, all of LaCrosse, Roland Zimmerman of Nashville, TN. Preceded in death by her sister, Dorothea Zimmerman.
