Wesley G. (Wes) Carlson

Carlson, Wesley G. (Wes) age 65, loving husband, dad, papa, brother and friend, died Friday, November 24, 2006 at his home in Prescott, Arizona. He was born November 12, 1941 in Minneapolis, Minnesota; the son of Grant and Mildred (Carlson) Carlson. Wes worked as director of Pensions for Northwest Airlines and retired after 31 years of service. After moving to Prescott in 2002, Wes worked at Las Fuentes Resort as a van driver for 2 years and as receptionist for AAA for 2 years. He attended Prescott Christian Church and a Bible Study Group. Wes enjoyed traveling, trains, and public transportation. He loved helping kids and others develop perfect college schedules. He was a true family man and enjoyed spending time with his family and his many friends. Wes was truly proud of his children and grandchildren and his career at Northwest. A friend recently called him a true steward of Northwest Airlines. Wes is survived by his loving and caring wife of 17 years, Sue; his children and their spouse, Debbie and Gary Stone of Shafer, Minnesota, Annette and Tom Saunders of Farmington, Minnesota, Erin and Johnathan Meyer of Bethany, Missouri, and Josh and Sharon Lind of Laveen, Arizona; a sister and brother-in-law, Adeline (Ade) and Tom Pederson live in Norfolk, Nebraska. Wes is also survived by his wonderful grandchildren, Chaise, Taylor, Kiley and Sebastian; and God-daughter, Nicole Larsen. Also survived Wes is Betty Froeschle, his mother-in-law; and Sharon and ken Lewandowski his friends. Visitation was held Tuesday, November 28th from 4 to 6 PM at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, corner of Cortez and Carleton Streets in Prescott. Services and burial will take place in Lakeville, Minnesota at Hosanna! Lutheran Church, 1 PM Friday, December 1st with burial at Sunset Memorial Park in Minneapolis. The family suggests contributions be made in Wes's name to the Salvation Army, 237 S. Montezuma, Prescott, AZ 86303, Prescott Christian Church or a favorite charity.
