Bache-Wiig, Barbara Jordan What goes into a lifetime. Born on 1/25/1922, died peacefully on 7/3/2015 at 93 years of age. Preceded in death by father Leberg Jordan and mother Alfrida Jordan, husband Robert Olai Bache-Wiig and son John Jordan Bache-Wiig. Survived by three children Anne Lindenberg (Bruce), Ben Bache-Wiig (Margaret) and Martha Bache-Wiig (James Kucek) and 9 grandchildren Sarah Cornick (Andrew), Peter Bache-Wiig, Meredith Bache-Wiig, Grace Bache-Wiig, Jon Lindenberg, Sara d'Ipolito, Francesco d'Ipolito, Courtney Kucek and Alec Kucek. Barbara lived life to the fullest. She grew up in Minneapolis during the Great Depression. She graduated from the University with a BA in 1947 and a MS in Speech Pathology in 1952. Barb pursued a career in Speech Therapy and had a private practice for many years. She married Robert Bache-Wiig in 1945 and they raised 4 children in Waukesha. Barbara endured the tragic loss of her youngest son John in 1972. She was a great friend to many and shared her passions willingly. Dedicated to lifelong learning she practiced yoga, became a poet, publishing a number of volumes, played in her community band, studied Italian and championed the rights of women. She was also a teacher who developed and taught courses: Infertility Insights and Adoption Insights for UWW. To each of these pursuits she brought an infectious smile and an indomitable spirit embodied in her motto "Onward". A Celebration of Barbara's life will be held at the Retzer Nature Center S14 W28167 Madison St., Waukesha, WI 53188 on Sunday, July 26th from 11AM to 1 PM. Friends are invited to share a memory of Barb. Memorials are preferred to The Women's Center in Waukesha or the Retzer Nature Center.
