Markus, Duane (Dewey) age 73, of Wayzata, passed peacefully at his home on July 2, 2015. During his lifetime, Duane was a teacher and a college and professional athlete. He was the captain of U of M National Champion baseball team in 1964 and went on to play for the Chicago Cubs. He was the head referee for the WCHA, a stockbroker and trader, a corporate CEO, an avid hunter and a generous friend. Dewey lived life on his own terms. His positive attitude and non-stop drive were an inspiration to everyone who had the opportunity to know him. He is survived by his wife Ann; sons Chad (Carolyne), Andy (Deb) and Jeffrey (Darcy); and grandsons Brody and Harrison, all of whom he was fiercely proud. A Celebration of Life is being planned.
