Melba M. Ruoho

Ruoho Melba M., age 79, of Red Wing, died August 6, 2002. Survived by best friend, Ruth Johnson; sister, Helmi Mattson of Nashwauk, MN, nephews Clyde and Gary Mattson & their families; sister, Eleanor Salo of Mpls & nieces Cheryl & Amy Salo. Melba was a graduate of the Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, MN and had a long career in nursing which included a tour of duty with the U.S. Air Force. She retired from the VA Hospital in Mpls and moved to Red Wing upon retirement. Melba was an avid Vikings fan and also enjoyed fishing, camping, reading and spending time with her dog, Ramsey. A celebration of Melba's life will be held at her home in Red Wing on Saturday, Aug. 24. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society or the Goodhue County Humane Society of Red Wing.
