Holmstrom Donald Richard, 71, of Ottertail, MN, went to be with his Lord on Sun., Aug. 4, 202. Funeral services held Wed., Aug. 7 at Perham United Methodist Church. Committal service will be at Sunset Memorial Park in St. Anthony Village, MN at 12 Noon on Thurs., Aug. 8, 2002, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM at Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Paul, MN. Don was born July 6, 1931 in St. Paul, MN, son of Mauritz & Sigrid (Eckstrom) Holmstrom. He was a member of the Minnesota Air National Guard and served 13 months of active duty in the USAF on Iwo Jima and Japan, during the Korean War. Don was united in marriage to Marilyn Figg on May 23, 1953. They established a home in Roseville, MN. Don and his father operated Ace Steel Products, Eagan, MN. In 1976, Don was paralized by a spinal tumor, and was unable to continue working at Ace. He is survived and wll be greatly missed by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn of Ottertail; his children, Diane (Jeff) Halseth, Ramsey, MN, Douglas (Carla) Holmstrom, Evansville, IN, Gerald (Debbie) Holmstrom, Little Canada, MN, Neal (Maureen) Holmstrom, Bemidji, MN, Nancy (Greg) Guenther, Coon Rapids, MN, Elain (Russ) Blesener, Pine City, MN; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
