Cain, Kathleen (Katie) age 86, of St. Louis Park, passed away on September 21, 2006 . She was a loving wife and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Lowell (Mickey) Cain; her daughter, Yvonne Lane; her stepchildren, Mike, Marie, Pat, and Tony; her grandchildren, Liene, Kevin, Donna, Kellin, Heather, Nathan, Amanda, Mercedes, and Hannah;and sister- in-law, Geraldine English. Katie was born in Ireland in 1920, served as a Red Cross ambulance driver in London during World War II, and later worked as a hat model in Europe. She was runner-up to Maureen O'Hara for the crown of Miss Ireland in her youth. She moved to the United States in the late 1950's, where she quickly became a successful executive. She was Director of Public Relations at Olmsted County Bank & Trust Co. in Rochester and was Office Manager for the Bemis Company in Minneapolis. She hosted a television and radio show and was a sought after motivational speaker where she often spoke on the "power of laughter." It was once written of Katie that she "sounded like Carmel Quinn, looked like Katherine Hepburn, and moved around like Calamity Jane." Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am Monday. Sept. 25 at Church of St. Mary of the Lake, 105 North Forestview Lane, Plymouth, with interment at Fort Snelling. Visitation TONIGHT (Sunday) from 6 to 8 pm, with Prayer Service at 7:30 pm at Gearty-Delmore Park Chapel, Wooddale at Excelsior Blvd , St. Louis Park. Gearty Delmore Park 952-926-1615
