Ohman, Vernon L. age 78, of Elk River, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2015. Preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Margaret (Isakson) Ohman, brother, Rev. Donald Ohman, brothers-in-law, Rev. Eugene Johnson, Horace Easterbrook, Kenneth Johnson, and sister-in-law, Arlys (Gunion) Ohman. Vern lived a life full of generosity and kindness. He was a skilled carpenter, a good friend, and a loving husband and father. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Karen (McCabe); children, Susan (Robert) Godding, Melody (Clint) Garoutte, Joel (Mynda) Ohman, Leon (Cindy) Ohman, Robin (Darin) Carlisle; grandchildren, Autumn (Joshua) Wagner, Christine Godding, Joshua (Sonia) Carlisle, Jacob (Karen Gnat) Carlisle; great grandchildren, Isaiah, Kristen, Dietrich, Jasmine, and Michael; siblings, Lois Easterbrook, Paul Ohman, Jeanette Johnson, and Eunice (Gerald) Miller; and sister-in-law, Dianne (Paul) Midgett. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 11 AM at Nowthen Alliance Church, 19653 Nowthen Blvd NW, Anoka, with coffee & fellowship prior to service at 9:30 AM.
