Watkins, Alvin Floyd age 71, died 5/5/15 after a battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by loving parents Floyd and Eleanor Watkins; sister Phyllis Lindblad and brother-in-law David Lindblad, Sr. He will be greatly missed and is survived by loving family members: wife Gwen; son Kevin (Andrea) Watkins; grandchildren Lindsay (Dru) Burr, Austin, Alexsandra, Noah, Vlad, Anna, Masha, Kylee; son, Keith (Tonile) Watkins; grandchildren Kjersten, Ty, Carter; son Kyle Watkins. Alvin is also survived by brother Marvin; many nephews, nieces and cousins. Alvin attended ND College of Science, Wahpeton, ND, served in the US Army, and worked for Northern States Power Company in Fargo, ND. In Minneapolis, he worked at Western Station Stores and SuperAmerica in manager positions. He worked for Electric Machinery for 44 years retiring in March 2014. Alvin and Gwen were married for 43 years. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Advent Lutheran Church, 9475 Jefferson Hwy., Maple Grove, MN at 11 AM with a visitation starting at 10 AM. Visitation also Wed., June 3, from 5-7 PM at Advent Lutheran Church-Grace Hall. The family wishes to thank all the medical staff who helped take care of Al throughout this time.
