He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. John and Margaret McIntyre; brother John McIntyre, and infant daughter Jane. Bill is survived by his beloved wife Arlene; brothers James (Barbara), Philip; daughter Kimberly Klint (Douglas); son Kyle (Debbie); grandchildren Alex Klint (Laura), Bryan Klint (Brooke), Sarah Held (Lars), Andrew and Erinn McIntyre; and great-granddaughter Savannah Held. Bill received his B.A. from St. Olaf College where he participated in the St. Olaf Band, Orchestra (principal bassoonist), and Chapel Choir. Following two years of service in the U.S. Army (Fort Lewis, Washington), where he was a member of the U.S. Army Band, Bill did extensive graduate work at U of M and earned his M.A. from Minnesota State University. Bill was a gifted pianist and extraordinary music educator, both instrumental and choral, who touched the lives of thousands of students in the Bellingham, New Richland, Owatonna, and Mound Westonka school districts. He was an active member at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mound, and also served as Choral Director at Bethel Methodist, Mound, for twenty-eight years. What meant most to Bill were his faith in his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, the love for his devoted wife Arlene, his family, and vacationing in Hawaii with Arlene. Bill was humble, kind and gentle, had an infectious sense of humor, and we will miss him deeply. The family wishes to thank the loving staff at Minnetonka Shores for their compassionate care.
