John Michael Richards

Richards John Michael Richards, 59, of Big Lake, MN, on Monday, July 29, 2002, of cancer. Preceded in death by father, John W. and mother, Marian. Survived by wife, Ann; son, Jess (Erin) of Seattle; brothers, Jay of Bloomington and Jeff (Nancy) of Wichita; many nieces & nephews, and extended family members. Graduate of Bloomington High, John was known by many as John Richards Book Trader. Over the years, he developed and operated a used book business. He was totally immersed in the world of books: reading, writing, selling and trading. He was well-read on a wide variety of topics, was a skilled critical thinker, and a keen observer of the world. He enjoyed well-written books and the people who read them. Special thanks to Fairview Hospice and the caring staff at Trevilla of Robbinsdale. A private memorial service will be held. Per John's request, his body was bequeathed to the University of MN.
