Olson Rodney Windsor Olson, 65, of Oneida Street, Duluth, passed away July 29, 2002 at his residence. He was born May 26, 1937 in Minneapolis to Maurice R. and Edythe Mample Olson. He was Valedictorian Class of 1964 of Northwestern College of Chiropractic, Mpls. He was an avid outdoorsman; a lover of Nature's creatures. At the time of his death, he held the US record for deer shot with bow and arrow (weight) which he shot when he was 19 years old. For over 30 years, he worked as a Resident Claims Adjuster with Safeco; retiring in 1998. He was a member of American Legion Post 137, the Naval Reserve, NRA, and the Black Hats Men's Club. He is survived by his wife, Roberta; children, Melanie J. Olson (Ted Stocke), Mark L. (Suzanne) Hines, Cathleen (Scott) Grover, Thomas J. (Lisa) Clynch, John P. (Christie) Clynch, Paul R. (Holly) Clynch; his grandchildren, David, Dianne, Mark, Phillip, Hana, Elise, Max, Jessica, Tony, Katie, Blaire, Sammie, Shelly; as well as his sister, Sally Haugen; & many nieces & nephews. He also leaves behind his long-time close friend, Rich Lyons. Friends may call at Crawford Funeral Service (Johnson Mortuary), 514 East Third St., Duluth, Thursday from 12 PM until 1:15 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Thurs. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1710 E. Superior St. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
