John S. Kendall

Kendall John S. Four years after being diagnosed with leukemia, John Seedoff Kendall died on July 26, 2002 at the age of 73. John served as President of Gustavus Adolphus College, his alma mater, in St. Peter, MN from 1981 - 1991. His presidency followed nearly 30 years of teaching at Gustavus, through which he shared his passion for knowledge, learning and life with students, staff, colleagues, friends and family. With profound gratitude to Dr. Eric Weinshel, Dr. Jonathan Katz and the Fairview Southdale Oncology Staff for their professional care and compassionate concern, we lovingly bid a peaceful farewell. Wife, Joanne Kendall; children, Mary, Peter and David; grandchildren, Kendall, Emily, Erik, Elsa, and Mark; extended family and countless friends. A memorial service celebrating the life of John Kendall will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 700 S. Snelling, St. Paul, MN at 4 pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2002. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Christ Chapel Endowment at Gustavus Adolphus College & the Building Fund at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, St. Paul.
