Baker, Albert E. Al Baker Restaurateur Al was a father, grandfather, husband & friend. Al lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, June 4, 2006. He was at home, in Hospice care with his family by his side. Al was very active in the communities he served including Bloomington, Burnsville & Eagan. He took great pride in supporting the youth programs in their respective communities. Al was best known for his success as a restaurateur who was greatly influenced by his father-in-law working as a general manager at Howard Wong's restaurant in Bloomington. He then branched off on his own & opened up the Ground Round in Burnsville in 1981 & Al Baker's in Eagan in 1985. Al was preceded in death by his father, Jay C. Baker & is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Donna; mother, Beatrice; children, Bonnie Smith, Jean (John) McLaughlin; Chris Baker & Kim (Pat) Ahern; & grandchildren, Taylor, Alexandra, Madalyn, Holden, Beatrice, Joseph, Justin & Jake. Memorial Mass 11 AM Saturday, CHURCH OF ST JOHN NEUMANN, 4030 Pilot Knob Rd. & Deerwood Dr., Eagan. Gathering of Friends 4-8 PM Friday, J.S. KLECATSKY & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1580 Century Pt.
