Kyllonen, Ronald Rudolph age 83, died peacefully on April 5, serene in the knowledge that he was not going anywhere. His journey is simply over. What a trip it was! He was born prematurely in Duluth at the depth of the Depression on November 1, 1931. His grandmother said, "That baby will never live.". But live he did. He graduated from Denfeld High School, UMD, and the U of MN Medical School. He specialized in Child Psychiatry. He married Jeanette Mlinar in 1956, and they produced four amazing children: Anne (Mark) Donahoe, David (Maureen), Sue (Audrey deClue), and Jane (Jon) Martinson. They divorced after three decades of marriage. He was an Assistant Professor at The U of WI, a staff psychiatrist at Anoka State Hospital, and then settled into private practice in the Twin Cities. He enjoyed a comfortable retirement in Duluth, and pursued his many hobbies. He leaves behind memories of friends and relatives, many departed. He is survived by his children, four grandchildren, and hopefully a few pleasant memories. Memorials to Animal Allies Humane Society in Duluth. Final events are private; however, a celebration of Ron's life will be held on Saturday, August 22 (noon - 5:00) at the Clearwater Grille & Event Center (aka Lakeview Castle) in Duluth.
