Maureen Parent

Parent, Maureen 62 of Dana Point, CA, died April 18 after a struggle with breast cancer. She was born in Iowa City, IA on December 4, 1952 to Harold and Eileen Donnelly. Maureen was a 1971 graduate of Regina High School and graduated from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN, in 1975, with a Degree in Business. She went on to a successful career in the Insurance industry, working for St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company for 10 years. Following her time raising her children, she began a second career in the Real Estate industry in California. Maureen was married to Robert Parent at St. Patrick's Church in Iowa City on June 28, 1980. They moved to California in 1985 where they had 2 children; Megan and Ryan. Maureen leaves behind her husband Bob, daughter, Megan and son, Ryan, all of Dana Point, CA; Three siblings; Ken Donnelly of West Liberty, IA, JoAnn Punelli of Laguna Niguel, CA. and Diane Donnelly-Nelson of Laguna Woods, CA; brother-in-law Wallace Nelson of Laguna Woods and sister-in-law Sue Malloy (Dean) Malloy of Harrodsburg, KY. She is also survived by cousins, two nieces and one nephew. Memorials preferred to Susan G. Komen for Breast Cancer Research.
