Spieler, Alan Forrest Former owner of Forrest Photography, died at age 78 on April 17, 2015 in Phoenix AZ. Born in 1936, Lincoln, NE to Dr. Forrest and Mildred Spieler. He graduated from Lincoln High, received a Theater of Arts degree from Grinnell College and a B.P.A. degree from Brooks Institute of Photography. In Minneapolis, he became known for his portrait and glamour photography. Since retiring in 2005 he lived in Phoenix. In 1959 he married Virginia Okubo, together they had a daughter, Elizabeth Ayako. Alan requested no memorial: "I have lived most of my life as a sincere artist and artists should be remembered through their works." He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Mildred Spieler and sister Gretchen. He is survived by his sisters Pamela (George) Dow of Marshfield, MA, Amy Spieler of Medford, OR and daughter Elizabeth Spieler. The family is especially grateful for the end of life care given by Serenity Hospice of Phoenix, AZ.
