Sherwood, Karen Louise age 80, of Faribault, died on Friday, April 17, 2015 at her residence. Memorial services will be at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Faribault on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Sarah Nietz officiating. Interment will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault. A memorial visitation will be at the church on Friday, April 24, 2015 for 1 hour prior to the services. Karen Louise, the daughter of Everett and Pearl (Schwalbe) Strong, was born on September 22, 1934 in Minneapolis. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1952. Karen married George Healy in 1954 and they later divorced. On September 8, 1979, Karen married Gerald Sherwood in Minneapolis. She was the secretary for the Department of Mortuary Science at the University of Minnesota from 1952 until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the Traveler's Club and the Lamplighters at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband Gerald, two children Lynn (and Randy) Anderson of Richfield and Michael Healy of Monroe, LA, two grandchildren Kristin and Erik and one great-grandchild Leah. She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings Richard Strong, Diane Woods and Tom Strong. Memorial gifts may be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or Faribault Area Hospice.
