Gagner, Esther Irene (Monson) age 89, of St Louis Park, MN, passed away peacefully at her apartment in Parkwood Assisted Living on Sunday, April 12th. Esther was born August 2, 1925, in Frog Creek, WI, the daughter of Carl Edwin and Marie Amelia (Johnson) Monson. She graduated from Hayward High School in 1943 and on June 21, 1946, she married LeRoy Gagner of Springbrook, WI. After their marriage, they moved to Minneapolis, then St Louis Park, where they lived for 65 years. She is survived by her children, Gene (Nancy), Donna (Mike) Stenberg, Keith (Patty), and Rich (Karin); 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Betty Monson. Esther was preceded in death by LeRoy, her husband of 68 years; 8 brothers, Harley, Wilfred, Elmer, Henry, Carl, Donald, Lloyd, and Robert; and 4 sisters, Ethel Baker, Clara Moyer, Anna Hanson, and Gladys Minor. Esther was a homemaker and loved putting puzzles together. She and her husband enjoyed traveling around the country and spent time each winter in McAllen, TX, for 12 years. She was an avid Twins fan and enjoyed attending games with her husband. Esther and LeRoy were members of Holy Family Catholic Church where Esther was part of the Altar and Rosary Society for many years. Pallbearers will be Esther's grandchildren, Adam Stenberg, Annette Bierfriend, Cindy Geiger, Denise, Steve, Kevin, Chris, Tina, Jonathan, and Katharine Gagner. Visitation on Monday, April 20th, 4:00 - 8:00 pm, at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel, 3960 Wooddale Ave S, St Louis Park. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5900 West Lake Street, St Louis Park on Tuesday, April 21st at 10:30 am. Visitation to take place one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to Methodist Hospital Hospice Program (Park Nicollet Foundation), or to the family who will distribute to Esther's favorite causes at a later time.
