Hansen Thomas Frank, age 83, of Mpls. Upon graduation from North High, he served in the CCC & as Army medic, WWII Pacific theatre. Tom worked his entire life for the betterment of others. Graduating in social work from the U of M, he rose to the executive directorship of Wells Memorial & Northside Settlement Services. Tom then became a domestic relations counselor for Henn. Cty., retiring as supervisor. In retirement, he was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, the WISE program at Northstar Elementary School & the Master Gardener program. Reknowned among those who knew & loved him as enjoying storytelling, woodworking, gardening & music, Tom was also a confirmation mentor, a theology scholar, a punster extraordinaire & connoisseur of cookies. A deeply philosophical man of perpetual action, he enriched the lives of all who encountered him. Survived by wife, Judy Bevan; children, Kit (Carolyn) & Erich; granddaughter, Sarah & numerous members of his extended families. Memorial services Sat., Aug. 9, at Mayflower Congregational Church, 106 E. Diamond Lake Rd. (west side of 35W & 54th St. exit), Mpls., at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to University of Minnesota Foundation (200 Oak St SE, Ste 500, Mpls, MN 55455), for needy social work students (mention Tom Hansen).
