Bivin James R. "Bud" Bivin, 60 of Pflugerville, TX passed from this earth on July 24, 2003, following a 3-year fight against colon cancer. Bud's final hours were spent at home with his family. Bud was born to C. Richard & Myra Grace (nee Smith) Bivin on Oct. 24, 1942 in Overton, TX. He graduated from New London High School in 1961. Those who were fortunate enough to have met Bud would agree that he left an impression. Those who did not know Bud missed the opportunity to meet a unique individual. He lived life as if it were an adventure, savoring knowledge, relationships, and humor. Most recently, Bud was a Research Director and Sales Executive for Gartner. He worked for 25 years in Technical Sales Support and Sales Management. Bud is survived by his wife, Patricia Knapp (nee Sitarski); his mother, Myra of Overton; his sisters, Myra Smith of Longview & Marty Barbieri of Overton; his son, Bill of Pflugerville, and Bill's mother, Helen (nee Patterson ) of Las Colinas; his uncle, James Smith of Houston; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation Sun., July 27, 2003 from 6-8 PM and Bud's funeral service will take place on Tues., July 29, 2003 at 10 AM at the Burrows Funeral Home in Overton, TX. Attendees are welcome to tell what Bud meant to them during the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Rd., Austin, TX 78759, or the New London High School Memorial Association, PO Box 173, New London, TX 75682. Bud's caregivers, notably those at the Southwest Regional Cancer and Hospice Austin, provided a blend of medicine and tenderness that will not be forgotten by Bud or his family.
