W. Joanne (Johnson) Sebek

Sebek W. Joanne Sebek (nee Johnson), age 72 of Edina. Joanne was born November 29, 1930 in St. Paul, MN and and passed away peacefully at her home on July 23. She attended Carlton College and the University of Minnesota where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. Her husband and family were at the center of her love and attention. She enjoyed traveling, music and reading, maintaining strong interest in world affairs and the world of nature. Joanne was active for many years as the membership chairman and on the board of the Bay Lake Improvement Association working to support the lake conservation efforts. She was preceded in death by parents, Wilfred and Wilhelmine Johanne Johnson and brother, Charles I. Johnson. She is survived by her loving husband, Milan; her daughter, Minna (Pat) Gallagher of Chanhassen; her son, Michael (Jitka) Sebek of Edina; three granddaughters, Meghan, Kate and Anne Gallagher; and one grandson, Thomas Sebek; her brother, Wilfred (Joan) Johnson of Mpls; sister, Jeanne (John) Cummings of Edina; nephews, other relatives and many dear and treasured friends. She will be missed; she was a part of all of our lives with her vitality and richness of spirit. Loving memories of her will always be with us. A memorial service will be held at Good Samaritan Methodist Church, located near Tracy and Grove Street in Edina, on July 29 at 11 AM. Private interment at Acacia Cemetery.
