Twito, Kenneth Mellum 78, of St. Michael, MN, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at The Legacy, St. Michael. Kenneth Mellum Twito was born on April 5, 1936, in Ypsilanti, ND, to Irving and Leona (Mellum) Twito. He grew up and attended school in north Minneapolis, MN, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1954 and attending the University of Minnesota. At age 19 he met first wife Betty Johnson, whom he married in 1955 and had 3 sons. Ken began his career as a chemist with Grace-Lee in Minneapolis. But then he moved to sales, work he was good at and which allowed him to travel all over the country. He sold pharma-ceuticals, stocks, and hearing aids, among other things. He married Ruth Ann (Mach) Crook on October 7, 1970, growing his family with 8 more children. Ken was a lover of grandkids, golf, good coffee, bowling, crossword puzzles, reading, fresh vegetables from the garden, and cookies! He is survived by his wife Ruth of St. Michael, MN; children John Twito of Milwaukee, WI, Donald (Delores) Crook of Elk River, MN, David (Kathie) Crook of Bloomington, MN, Patsy Sikich of Apple Valley, MN, Eric (Marty) Twito of Andover, MN, Terry (Jim) of Mesa, AZ, Christine (Kyle) Nash of Minneapolis, MN, Steve Twito of Moorhead, MN, Larry (Tonya) Twito of Erie, CO, Jennifer Twito of Juneau, AK, and Debra (Chad) Schaben of Monticello, MN; sister Jane (Jack) Hokenstrom; 29 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and many other loved ones and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Donald. Services at Word of Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers, MN at 2 pm on Saturday, March 28th. Donations can be made to CrossServices.org.
