Kirsten (Sissi) Grodahl

Grodahl Kirsten (Sissi), age 86, of Bloomington, died peacefully at home on Wed., July 23, 2003 following a heart attack. Born in Frei, Norway Oct. 21, 1916 to Trygve Siversten and Karen Brekken Siversten. Emigrated to the US with her family in 1962. She will be remembered for her kindness as well as her gardening, literary, musical and artistic abilities. Survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Harry; children: Vigdis (Bart) Anderson of St. Paul, Kirsti Grodahl of Bloomington (special friend, Scott Anderson), Halgeir (Donnelle) Grodahl of Afton and Ivar Grodahl (fiancee Lynda Schectman) of St. Louis Park; grandchildren: Christopher Anderson of Minneapolis and daughter Britt, Michael (Shaya) Anderson of Maplewood and their children, Anthony, Kirsten and Peter; Kathryn (MIchael) Bailey of St. Paul and their son Brandon; Sarah (Michael) Steblay of Lake Elmo and their children, Jakob and Sophia; Lisa (Brock) Maiser of Irving, TX; Kimberly Grodahl of Bloomington (special friend Christopher Pilliod) and Joseph Grodahl-Biever of MInneapolis (their father Rondald Biever of Bloomington); Robert Grodahl of Afton; and Brianna Grodahl of Afton; other family: brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews in Norway. Special thanks to members of Fairview Hospice and Meena of Crystal Care; Pastor Jens Dale of Mindekirken; and Staci Stringer who sang beautiful hymns for Kirsten during her final hours. Memorial Service Tuesday, July 29th at 12:00 Noon with visitation at 11:00 AM at the Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church (Mindekirken)at 10th Ave. and Franklin, Minneapolis 55404.
