Tremmel James E. Tremmel, age 80, died peacefully on July 21, at Emerald Crest Alzheimer Home in Minnetonka. Survived by loving wife of 61 years, Janice; beloved children, Jon Tremmel (Donna), Jane Christensen (Jerry); brothers, Richard and Thomas; and seven grandchildren: Alex, Kim, Ryan, Joy, Jamie, Joe, and Noelle; and by his faithful canine friend, Honey. Born on April 21, 1923 in Minneapolis,, he grew up in Northeast Minneapolis and attended Edison High School. A World War II veteran, Jim worked for Northwestern Bell for 35 years. He was active in Boy Scouts and many local Minneapolis youth programs over the years. During retirement Jim and Jan moved to Sugar Lake by Annandale, MN, where he served several years on the Sheriff's Water Patrol. Jim enjoyed boating, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren. For the last five years they lived in the Glen Lake area of Minnetonka. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Emerald Crest for their dedicated and caring support.
