Marcotte Michael John, CAS, NCPG, LADC, age 59, of St. Louis Park, passed away on June 28, 2002. Beloved son, brother, father and grandfather. Remembered by family, friends and colleagues as committed and loving. He touched so many lives through his work as a CD, gambling and family counselor at the Intervention Institute/Gamblers Choice Program in Northeast Mpls. As a pioneer in the treatment of compulsive gambling in Minnesota he increased awareness, treatment and research since 1977. Preceded in death by parents, John and Myra Marcotte. Survived by birth parents, Merle Baumgardner and Betty Johnson; sister, Darlene Stevens; brother, Jim Lavio; sons, Todd and Troy; grandchildren, Kristine, T.J., Rebecca, Zachary and Madelyn; daughters-in-law, Cindy and Nicole; and beloved pets, Abby and Spike. Funeral service Wednesday, 10:30 AM at Westwood Lutheran Church, 9001 Cedar Lake Rd., St. Louis Park. Visitation Tuesday (TODAY) 4-8 PM at Enga-White Funeral Chapel, 5600 Excelsior Blvd. at Hwy. 100, and ½ hour at church before time of service.
