Garske George Leo, 82, passed away June 17, 2002 in Phoenix, Arizona following a terrific Father's Day spent with his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Beth and three children: sons, Peter and Paul Gorske; daughter, Beth Stordahl. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Gretchen Harris. He will be deeply missed by grandchildren, Moya, Emily, Samuel and Gretchen Garske, and Erica Stordahl and Paul Harris. He was born in Minneapolis, the first son of Leo and Marie Garske. With his passing, he will join both parents and younger brother, Jack. He was a graduate of the University of St. Thomas and University of Minnesota Medical School. He performed his Urology residency at Hennepin County General and St Mary's Hospitals. His patients were the recipients of his skills, wisdom, compassion, and humor and utmost dedication to the practice of medicine until his retirement in 1986. His ability to tell a story and his uncanny recall of life's bounties will be missed by family and friends alike. His memories of his Naval days during World War II were a particular source of enjoyment and pride. He enjoyed activities such as skiing, hunting and golf. Many of his close friends have passed but he made new ones daily right up until his death. He will be sorely missed by all, most especially his loving family. A private family service will take place in Minneapolis with burial at Fort Snelling. Plans will be made for a Memorial Service at a future date. Any contributions in George's name may be directed to Our Lady of Good Counsel Home, St. Paul, MN; Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Scottsdale, AZ 85014. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary.
