Metz Frances E., age 85, of Richfield. Born Oct. 3, 1916 at the family farm, near Montevideo, the youngest of four children. Graduated from Montevideo H.S. at the age of 16. She graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in 1934, specializing in secretarial services. Married W.E. Metz of Truman, MN on Sept. 13, 1941. While her husband served in the Pacific Theatre in WWII, Fran worked at the Community War Chest, San Antonio, TX, from 1942-45. Following the war, they returned to Mpls, where she worked for Reinhart Brothers. In later years, she worked as a dental receptionist and assistant in Edina. In retirement years, she served Fairview Southdale Hospital as a volunteer, receiving her 2000 Hour Pin in 2001. Active member and treasurer of Woodlake Lutheran Senior Group. Survived by daughters, Wendy (Gerald) Pommerening, Hastings, MN, Sandra (Roger) Malm, Hallock, MN; son, Rev. R.G. ``Dick'' Metz, Redmond, OR; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle Anderson, Dawson, MN and Clarice Lehr, Burnsville; brother, Orton Thomton, Bemidji. Service Wednesday, 11 am at Woodlake Lutheran Church, 7525 Oliver Ave S. Interment Dawn Valley. Visitation Tuesday, 5-8 pm at Morris Nilsen Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave S. Memorials preferred.
