Rev. Curtis C. Peter

Rev. Curtis C. Peter, age 64, of Isanti, MN, formerly of Bloomington, MN passed away June 8, 2002 following a valiant battle with cancer. His life served as a testament to human strength, courage, and deep compassion. Curtis earned MDiv. Degree from Wartburg Seminary, Dubuque, IA. He served parishes in Lebanon & Appleton, WI. He joined the American Lutheran Church Mpls. as Editor of Children's Resources and later as Director of Education Materials. He also served Augsburg College as Church Relations Director. His desire to return to the parish led to interim ministries at St. Phillips Lutheran Church, Fridley, MN and Faith Lutheran Church, Isanti, MN where he accepted a permanent call. He concluded his formal ministry when he preached the Confirmation Service in May. He was preceded in death by his parents & sister. He is survived by wife, LaVerne; children, Eric of Phoenix, AZ, Rachel (Tom) Johnson of Bloomington, MN, Aaron (Jessie) of St. Petersburg, FL, Seth (Chris) of Mpls., MN; grandson, Adam Johnson; and grand-niece, Ashley. He is also survived by 1 sister & 7 brothers; and many people who were part of his extended family. Curtis devoted his life to God's people by his preaching, teaching and life example of unconditional love and kindness for all.
