Rubin Betty J. (Brown) passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2002. Betty enjoyed life, jazz music, dancing, nightlife, Betty Boop, butterflies and being with friends. She was never without a smile or a kind word. Betty was born in Nebraska City, NE on November 18, 1921. She grew up in Kansas City, KS and had a lengthy career in the garment industry working at Adler's Department Store before moving to Mpls in 1955. She worked for a number of years at Wender's Fine Dress Store as a buyer and sales consultant. She later worked for the Coat Company. She resided in the Loring Park area for most of her adult life. She was an association president at Oak Grove Towers. She was married to Walter Rubin who preceded in her in death, as did her parents, Vernon and Blanche Brown and her sister, Nadine. She is survived by numerous Minnesota friends as well as her niece, Rita Dunphy; nephews, Michael and Thomas Balint. She has 5 grand nieces and 2 grand nephews. Memorial service 2 PM Monday, June 11 Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, W. 50th St. & Vernon Ave. at Hwy 100, Edina.
