Lucille (William) Sharkey

Sharkey Lucille (Mrs. William) Sharkey, age 83, of Minneapolis, formerly of Faribault, died Thursday, July 10, 2003 at Catholic Eldercare nursing home in Mpls. Lucille Elizabeth Kueffner, the daughter of William and Clarissa (Crawford) Kueffner, was born on June 11, 1920 in Ringle, WI. She married William R. Sharkey on May 1, 1943 and enjoyed 50 years of marriage. She was an English & Home Economics teacher and was an avid reader and painter. She was a founding member of a woman's Study Club, a member of Great Books, and active in the DFL. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Sharkey of San Diego; son, Dan (Amy) Sharkey of Savage; beloved grandchildren, Heather & William; sister, Jane Shade of IL; and by many relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her loving husband on August 17, 1993; by her brother, William Kueffner and sisters, Carolyn Phillips and Rita Jones. Funeral service Sunday, July 13, 4 PM from the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault, with Sister Mary Ellen Gevelinger officiating. Interment, Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Mpls. Visitation Sunday from 2-4 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations in memory of Lucille to Catholic Eldercare, Inc., 817 Main St. NE, Mpls, MN 55413-1900.
