Rothnem Morris Stanley Rothnem, age 83, passed away July 7, 2003. He was born December 3, 1919 to Thomas and Ovidia Rothnem in Fargo, ND. As a child, he aspired to follow in his father's footsteps and become a physician. He attended St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN and graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in 1944. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Barnabas Hospital, Minneapolis, MN in 1948. Prior to the completion of his residency, he was a Captain in the United States Army Medical Corps serving in Japan and Hawaii. After completing his residency, he joined the Paul Larson Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic in Minneapolis, MN, and continued practicing until his retirement in 1989. He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Jerelyn; two sons, Brad and his wife Sherri of Prior Lake, MN, Greg and his wife Deb of San Diego, CA; three daughters, Susan Wilson and her husband Bill of Lawton, OK, Jill Johnson of Minneapolis, MN and Lynn Pereira and her husband Joe of Scottsdale, AZ, and sixteen grandchildren, Rachel, Grant, Blake, Moriah, Kristin, Brittany, Heather, Jennifer, Jeff, John, Tyler, Kyle, Michael, Adam, Nolan, and Antonio. Morrie was a warm and caring physician who touched many lives. As a husband, father and grandfather, he was loving, wise and a source of strength to us all. He lived life to the fullest, always seeking to enrich his life through travel, reading and conversation. He will be deeply missed by his family and those whose lives he touched. He is now in God's hands, but his spirit will be within us all. Visitation to be held at 12 noon Saturday, July 12, 2003 at Messinger Indian School Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale, AZ, with services to immediately follow at 1 PM at the Messinger Mortuary. Interment will be private for family members. In lieu of flowers, the families would prefer contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
