Leila Warneke

Warneke Leila, age 73, of Plymouth. Preceded in death by parents, Renos & Anne Wells; brother, Jay Carey Wells. Survived by husband, Owen; daughters, Julia Ann Warneke, Mary Joan (Steven) Gray; son, Owen Wells (Jane) Warneke; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joseph, Ellen, Paul and Sophie; sister, Bonnie (Jack) Sarff; brother, James (Marj) Wells. Leila's unshakeable faith in Jesus Christ was lived out as a very active member of the Methodist church. She had a lifelong passion for music, history, teaching and her family. Singing with the Plymouth Rockers and teaching at Birchview Elementary School were some of the highlights of her life. She particularly enjoyed traveling with her loving husband of 54 years. Funeral service Monday, 1:30 pm at Messiah United Methodist Church, 17805 Co Rd 6, Plymouth. Visitation Sunday, 4-7 pm at Gearty-Delmore Chapel of Plymouth, 37th Ave. N. & Vicksburg Lane.
