Feigal Tania V., age 75, formerly of Pine Island, MN, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at the residence of her daughter in McAlester, OK. Memorial service 11 am Friday at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church in McAlester with Dr. David Cressman officiating under direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester. Born in Harbin, China, the daughter of Russian Colonel Alexander Nykolayewich Wolodkewicz and his wife Anna Alexandrowna, she attended school at St. Joseph's, which was run by the Franciscan Sisters. During World War II, she worked at the bakery, Kiesling Bater, where she met U.S. Marine Maurice Sterling Feigal whom she later married on June 16, 1946 in Tientsin, China. They moved to Pine Island in 1946 where they operated Pine Cheese Mart and later on the North Shore owned Thomsonite Beach Motel and Jewelry Shop until after the death of Maurice in 1995. She was known as an artist in thomsonite and precious metals. Survivors include daughter, Dr. Cheryl Feigal-James and husband Dr. Melton B. James of McAlester; a grandson, David James and wife Abby of Guthrie, OK; 2 foster daughters, Vina Dircks and Christine Roe; 2 brothers-in-law, William and Jack Feigal and a host of nieces and nephews. The family requests memorials to Habitat for Humanity.
