Robert S. Olson

Olson Robert S., 73, of Fergus Falls, died July 5 in Rochester from complications of cancer. Adopted son of Guy & Emma Grina Olson, he was born on Feb. 6, 1930 in St. Paul. Proprietor of Olson Furniture and Funeral Home. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota and had attended St. Olaf College, the University of Colorado and Moorhead State University. A Korean War vet, Bob was active in numerous civic affairs, most notably as Past District Governor of District 5580 of Rotary International. Survived by wife of 52 years, Elaine; a daughter, Rev. Nancy Olson Hess of Cook; two sons, Guy (Pam) and Keith (Kim) Olson, all of Fergus Falls; eight grandchildren; a sister, Constance Haugarth of Texas; and a half- brother, Darwin "Pete" Koloff of Coon Rapids. Visitation will be from 1-4 PM Wednesday at the Olson Funeral Home and from 6-8 PM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, both in Fergus Falls, with a prayer service beginning at 7, and resumes one hour prior to the services at the church.
